Fairy Godparent’s
Organized by Heather Burditt
Monday 6 -7:30 pm: Sign-ups
Monday 8 -9 pm: Name Drawing
(event then coninues through-out the week)
Fairy Godparent’s is a game played for the duration of the conference. It’s a chance to make the conference a little magical!
Each person who wants to participate will write their name and information on a slip of paper and place it into a bucket. Later, each person who placed their name in the bucket will draw a name that isn’t their own. That is your Fairy Godchild.
Once you have his/her name, spend the week making your Fairy Godchild feel special. You can write him a letter, have someone give her a hug, give him some arcade tokens, get her some candy from the candy shop, make a sign saying how wonderful he is. The ideas are endless! Be creative. But don’t give away your identity!
Sign-ups will be Monday from 6 - 7:45 pm at our Registration Table during the Winter Carnival
Name drawing will be from 8:00 – 9 pm
The game is for ANYONE regardless of age! Parents can help the younger children fulfill their duties.
We request each participant to please bring a 4 X6 photo of themselves. We will then paste their info. on the back of the photo to be drawn, to help Godparents know who their new Godchild is.
Must be attending UWWG from Monday until at least Thursday.
We will have a designated area in our conference area where items can be placed throughout the week, for one’s Godchild.

TUESDAY EVENING
Scavenger Hunt
Organized by Laura Riesenberg and Deanne Leland
6 pm – 7:30 pm
Come and join us for a scavenger hunt with a twist! Rather than looking for and collecting objects, you will be meeting fellow UWWG attendees and collecting their signatures to help complete your hunt. Fun for both young and old, this event promises to help you learn more about others at the UWWG. By the time the hunt ends, you will know something about everyone in the hunt that you didn't know before! Who travelled the furthest to the Kalahari, who is an only child, who is related to someone famous, come and find out! There will also be some prizes for the winners!
Talent Show
M.C.'s: The Joyce brothers, Jeff and Scott
8 pm – 10 pm
Have a talent you want to share? We'd love to see it. Singing, dancing, poetry, short skits, magic, standing on your head - whatever you can do, show it off! Family and group acts are also encouraged. We welcome all talents and all ages for a fun night of community and camaraderie.
We kindly request acts to be limited to three minutes, to ensure the show moves along and everyone gets their time in the spotlight. We'll have sign-up sheets at the registration table beginning Monday.
Unschooled Teens & Young Adult Panel / Open Forum Q &A
10pm - ?
After the talent show, we’ll have a panel of unschooled teens and young adults on stage. They have offered to allow us to put them on a panel and ask questions about their unschooling life. What they like about it? What they don't? How do they earn? What about socialization? Do they have any friends? It’s sure to be a lively discussion. Who knows, we may learn a few thing!!
